What is it to receive a great gift,
shared from the spirit, the energy of another?
Not quality or price —
is insight the essence of a great gift?
What if a gift is so great it exceeds my understanding?
A great gift reveals a facet of another,
given with no expectation, only a hope —
connection is deepened,
knowledge is gained,
enlightenment expands.

Laurel Pepin, a lifelong New Englander, studied fine art photography in school, although her management skills brought her on a different path. She has since returned to her artistic roots designing liturgical art installations for her worship community and writing and photographing creation in every spare moment.
